THE ACTS OF US: 34 - Spiritual Deficiency

Acts 19:1-7

SERMON NOTES:

The ACTS of US: 34- Spiritual Deficiency

Text: Acts 19:1-7; Various

Date: 09-27-2020 Beaver Creek Christian Church

Deficiency is the state of lacking some necessary quality or element. A spiritual deficiency is the lack of evidence of the Holy Spirit in your life. Paul met 12 disciples on the road to Ephesus. He noticed that there was something deficient in their lives. It was the Holy Spirit (Acts 19:1-7). Let’s look at what this encounter reveals about their spiritual deficiency so that we can shine a light on our own lives too.

SERMON NOTES:

The ACTS of US: 33- TEAM JESUS

Text: Acts 18:18-28; Various

Date: 09-20-2020 Beaver Creek Christian Church

Every member of a team has a part to play and they must work together in order to succeed. The Church is also a team (Ep 4:11-15) and each person has a part on Team Jesus. In Acts 18:18-28 we get a rare glimpse of Paul’s team at work on the strategy of evangelism and discipleship. We can learn from this same strategy that was used by Jesus and by Paul.

Ephesians 6:10-20; Various

Welcome to our virtual revival!

The Fiery Darts of Fear

Text: Ephesians 6:10-20; Various

Date: Sunday, 09-13-2020pm Beaver Creek Christian Church

We are living in scary times… And the year ain’t over yet Satan uses fiery darts to tear down Christians (Ep 6:16). These small arrows do great damage in making Christians ineffective. Perhaps one of his greatest fiery darts is that of fear which he has used with great efficiency in 2020. Fear can blind Christians to the power of God. Today I want to tell you how fear effects us and how the Shield of faith can extinguish the fiery darts of fear.

The Revival began with this morning's message, "We are at War". This video and materials can be found on our Worship Services page.

We Are At War!

Ephesians 6:10-20

We Are At War!

Text: Ephesians 6:10-20; Various

Big Idea: There is a spiritual war. We must be preparing now

Date: 09-13-2020 Beaver Creek Christian Church

The Bull Moose principle is simple: Enduring faith, strength, and wisdom for trials are best developed before they're needed. Satan doesn’t need to utterly defeat you... just knock you antlers off. Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:10-20 of the spiritual warfare waged by the “powers of this dark world..and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” We need to be prepared and Paul gives us four ways to do so.

SERMON NOTES:

The ACTS of US: 32- Our Faithful God

Text: Acts 18:1-17; Various

Date: 09-06-2020 Beaver Creek Christian Church

There are many who are going through frustrations, hardships, and loss right now. But God is faithful to us, especially in times of difficulty. So we should respond in faithful service to Him. Paul may be feeling a bit frustrated in our passage today. But in our passage today God shows Paul that he is faithfully working in Paul’s life to bring good fruit (Ac 18:1-17). He will do the same for us.

THE ACTS OF US: 31 - No Excuse For Ignorance

SERMON NOTES:

The ACTS of US: 31- No Excuse For Ignorance

Text: Acts 17:16-34; Various

Date: 08-23-2020 Beaver Creek Christian Church

Ignorantia juris non excusat - Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Ignorance is a lack of knowledge but arrogance is the overbearing attitude of pride that often accompanies faulty or missing information. Paul proclaims in Acts 17:16-34 that God is no longer accepting ignorance as an excuse.

THE ACTS OF US: 30 - Eager to Preach, Eager to Hear

Acts 17:1-15; Various

SERMON NOTES:

The ACTS of US: 30- Eager To Preach, Eager To Hear

Text: Acts 17:1-15; Various

Date: 08-16-2020 Beaver Creek Christian Church

There are people trying to turn the world upside-down through politics, protest, violence, and destruction. But Paul and Silas were actually accused of turning the world upside-down (Ac 17:6). They did this through proclaiming Christ, reasoning, and persuading people that Jesus is the promised Messiah (Acts 17:1-15). I believe that like Paul, we need to be eager to proclaim, explain, and persuade for the time is short. And our audience needs to be like the noble Bereans and be eager to listen.

THE ACTS OF US: 29 - Just Sing!

Acts 16:16-40; Various

SERMON NOTES:

The ACTS of US: 29- Just Sing!

Text: Acts 16:16-40; Various

Date: 08-09-2020 Beaver Creek Christian Church

There is something powerful about music and song. Music and song is a great way to worship and praise God. Music and praise go together in the Bible (Ps 95:1; Ep 5:18-20; He 2:12; Ps 22:22). The easiest and shortest way to get to the heart of God and get victory over any situation and circumstance, no matter how big, is through acceptable praise. It is a guarantee for victory and a mighty tool in the hand of every believer. Paul and Silas teach us a good lesson in handling bad situations and circumstances with praise and prayer. Just Sing!

THE ACTS OF US: 28 - "NO!"

Acts 16:6-15; Various

SERMON NOTES:

The ACTS of US: 28- “NO!”

Text: Acts 16:5-15; Various

Date: 08-02-2020 Beaver Creek Christian Church

No one likes being told “NO!” It hurts. Sometimes we pout, cry, throw tantrums, ask “why,” and sometimes we even do it anyway. In Acts 16:6-15, God tells Paul and his companions “NO!” Sometimes God says “NO!” to our plans. We must learn to take divine rejection and guidance in our lives and in our ministry of service to him. Let’s look at God’s rejection of Paul’s plans and see what we can learn about facing divine rejection of our plans.

THE ACTS OF US: 26 - Conflict Management

Acts 15:1-35

SERMON NOTES:

The ACTS of US: 26- Conflict Management

Text: Acts 15:1-35; Various

Date: 07-19-2020 Beaver Creek Christian Church

Unity is a good thing...but the world seems a little devoid of that right now. We know that believers in the church are supposed to be unified because the Bible tells us so (1 Co 1:10; Ga 3:28; Ph 2:1-3; etc.). But showing unity is easier said than done. In Acts 15, the church faces sharp conflict but the Jerusalem Council overcame it (Ac 15:1-12). There are three principles that I think can help us in every conflict.

THE ACTS OF US: 25 - The Missions Precedent / Share with Joy

Acts 14:1-28; Various

SERMON NOTES:

The ACTS of US: 25- The Missions Precedent Text: Acts 14:1-28; Various

Date: 07-12-2020 Beaver Creek Christian Church

There is excitement in sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ. Paul and Barnabas were on the first mission journey cutting new ground with the good news message of Jesus Christ. Their visit to Pisidian Antioch may not have been successful in the eyes of some but Paul and Barnabas were filled with joy because there were many who received the gospel message and accepted Jesus. We too can share the gospel message of Jesus Christ with excitement and enthusiasm. In this chapter Paul and Barnabas give us three important presidents for sharing the gospel message.

THE ACTS OF US: 24 - The Gospel Perspective

Acts 13:42-52; Various

SERMON NOTES:

The ACTS of US: 24- The Gospel Perspective

Text: Acts 13:42-52; Various

Date: 07-12-2020 Beaver Creek Christian Church

Our perspective is very important to us. Perspective is how we see the world, our own reality. Everything we do or say is a result of our perspective. It can protect us and motivate us. But our perspective should always be in line with God’s viewpoint. In the sermon last, Paul preached a powerful message on the realization of long awaited Davidic hope. But the perspective of the listeners determined whether they accepted or reject the message. Today we will see how perspective changes things and how we should look at things from God’s point of view… The Gospel Perspective.
