Janet Lowery Palmer shares, “We have bought into this PC mentality. Live and let live. Don't offend anyone. We are allowing our youth to be brainwashed in the school systems. Our own lives fail to measure up as Christians. Your best witness is how you allow Christ to live in you!!!”
Our world tries to compress us into a mold so that we will be like it. The problem is that social conformity is fickle. Truth is subjective and is molded to fit whatever is popular at the moment.
But God’s word is absolute. His truth never changes. And the truth is that the world is filled with sin and death and God is going to judge the world. Yes He loves the people of this world and he wants them to be saved. That is why he sent his Son to take our punishment and die in our place. All we have to do is accept him and build a real relationship with Jesus.
Jesus said, "I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me (Jn 14:6). What every you think you know may not match up with the absolute of Jesus Christ. It doesn't mater what your opinion is if you don't submit to him.
Paul urges Christians to be transformed by being a living sacrifice. We are not to be conformed to this world but we are to be conformed to the image of Christ.
Romans 12:1-2 (NIV) -Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 8:29 (CEB) We know this because God knew them in advance, and he decided in advance that they would be conformed to the image of his Son. That way his Son would be the first of many brothers and sisters.
So don't be pressed into the mold of this world. You will only find pain, frustration, and great disappointment. Rather be conformed to Christ and let him transform you!
PRAYER THOUGHT: Dear Lord Almighty; You are absolute truth. You are my rock in the shifting sand of the worldly opinion. Hold me tight to the truth. Help me to boldly proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ to a world in need of your great love and forgiveness. In Jesus' name, AMEN!
